Forty-six years with the same material teaches things that can't be learned quickly. Chevignon started working with denim in France in 1979. The market shifted repeatedly across those decades. The way we approached construction did not. That time produced something specific: a working knowledge of what holds up and what doesn't.

Best Use Scenario

Since 1979, Chevignon has applied the same construction standards to every jean in the line: fabric selection, seaming, and hardware chosen for how they hold up over real use rather than how they look on day one. This jean runs in the Relaxed Fit, the widest silhouette in the Chevignon men's range. It sits at a high rise and carries room through the thigh and knee without the leg losing its shape. Button fly. Built for all-day wear without restriction. The light wash enters with the most indigo already removed in production. The contrast between the lighter fabric and the darker seams and pockets reads vintage from the first wear. A wash that doesn't require years of use to develop its look.

Our Denim

Chevignon started in France in the late 1970s. The original question was simple: why do some garments hold up for decades while others fall apart in two seasons? Denim kept coming back as the answer. The fabric has memory. It records how it's been worn, where the tension accumulated, how many times the knee bent or the thigh pulled. Since 1979, every construction decision in the Chevignon denim line, from the fabric weight to the seaming to the wash process, has been made with that behavior in mind. How the jean will read after five years of real use, not how it photographs in a studio on day one.
